Standard support for Odoo 17.0 ends this month.
If your company runs it, Odoo’s own support table says bug fixes and security updates for 17.0 stop in September 2026 unless you pay a mandatory extended-support fee, and the upgrade that follows cannot run until every custom module in your database has been rewritten for the new version (Odoo, Odoo upgrade documentation). That second condition is why the partner you pick matters more than the version you pick. This Top 20 Odoo Development Companies in USA guide is taken from the first page of Odoo’s official US partner directory, where 7 of 273 partners hold Gold status, and it shows which of the twenty have experts certified on the version you are moving to (Odoo partner directory). Six of them have none certified on Odoo 19.
It also covers the part of an Odoo project the implementation quote leaves out: whose name is on the Enterprise subscription, who upgrades your custom modules every few years, and what happens to your licence if the relationship ends.
Key takeaways
- September 2026 is when standard support for Odoo 17.0 ends; Odoo 18.0 follows in September 2027 and 19.0 in September 2028 (Odoo).
- 7 of 273 Odoo partners in the United States hold Gold status; 28 are Silver and 238 are Ready (Odoo partner directory, read 14 September 2026).
- 6 of 20 top-listed US partners have no experts certified on Odoo 19, and 57% of the twenty’s 289 certified experts are on version 19 (Brain Station 23 analysis of Odoo partner listings).
- 64% of the twenty partners’ 1,471 client references belong to the seven Gold partners, and manufacturing plus wholesale and retail account for 57% (Odoo partner listings).
- $10.90 per user per month, billed annually, is Odoo’s Custom plan in the US, the plan needed for Odoo.sh, on-premise hosting, Studio, multi-company or the external API (Odoo pricing).
- $55,000 to $150,000 is the middle half of US Odoo developer salaries on ZipRecruiter, around a $95,986 average (ZipRecruiter).
- More than 70% of recently implemented ERP initiatives will fail to fully meet their original business goals by 2027, Gartner predicts (Gartner).
- 4 of 20 top-listed partners have any reviews on Clutch, and only one names Odoo in its Clutch ERP split (Clutch profiles, read 14 September 2026).
Odoo in 2026: a three-year clock on every version
Odoo is no longer a niche open-source project. Its homepage invites visitors to join 28 million users and lists more than 40,000 community apps (Odoo). The company reported EUR 650 million in billing revenue for 2025, annual recurring revenue growth of 42 percent and a workforce of nearly 7,000 when it launched Odoo 19 in September 2025 (Odoo).
That scale comes with a fixed release rhythm. Odoo gives every major version three years of standard support, covering helpdesk, bug fixes and security updates, and charges a mandatory additional fee for extended support after that (Odoo). Odoo 16.0 left standard support in September 2025. Odoo 17.0 is planned to leave it in September 2026, Odoo 18.0 in September 2027 and Odoo 19.0 in September 2028.

Where the database runs changes how hard that clock bites. On Odoo Online, a major-version upgrade is mandatory every two years. On Odoo.sh or on-premise, you can stay on a version indefinitely, although Odoo recommends against it (Odoo upgrade documentation). Staying put is a decision to run without security updates or to pay for extended support.
The upgrade itself has a dependency buyers rarely hear about in the sales call. Odoo states that a database containing custom modules “cannot be upgraded until a version of your custom modules is available for the target version”, and its upgrade service does not cover modules built in-house or by third parties, including Odoo partners, unless they sit under a maintenance contract (Odoo upgrade documentation). Every customisation you buy now is an upgrade task you buy again later.
ERP projects in general are hard to land. Gartner predicts that by 2027 more than 70 percent of recently implemented ERP initiatives will fail to fully meet their original business goals (Gartner). In Panorama Consulting’s 2026 ERP Report, based on 170 respondents, the median project took nine months, more than a quarter of organisations went over budget and almost a quarter went over schedule (Panorama Consulting Group). Budget overruns most often came from unexpected technology needs; schedule overruns most often came from organisational issues. Those figures cover all ERP systems, not Odoo alone.
The partner market is concentrated at the top. Odoo’s directory lists 273 partners in the United States, and only 7 hold Gold status (Odoo partner directory).

So brief a partner with your current version, your hosting and a list of every custom module you run, before you describe a single new feature.
What Odoo development costs in the US
An Odoo project sends two bills: the subscription to Odoo and the services from a partner.
The subscription is published. In the US, the One App Free plan costs nothing for unlimited users of a single app. The Standard plan costs $7.25 per user per month billed annually, or $8.95 monthly, but runs only on Odoo Online and excludes multi-company, Odoo Studio and the external API. The Custom plan costs $10.90 per user per month annually, or $13.60 monthly, and adds Odoo.sh or on-premise hosting, multi-company, Studio and API access (Odoo pricing). Installing Studio or adding a second company moves you to Custom automatically.

For 25 users on the Custom plan billed annually, that is $3,270 a year at list price. Most integrations with online stores, carriers or banks need the external API, and most customisations need Studio or hosting outside Odoo Online, so price the Custom plan unless a partner shows you why Standard fits.
The services bill is harder to benchmark. Only six of the twenty partners below publish an hourly band on Clutch: Bista Solutions and Brainvire at $25 to $49, and Bay Forward, Confianz, Tekgenio and DFW IT Partner at $50 to $99 (Clutch profiles, read 14 September 2026). The other fourteen publish no rate or have no Clutch profile.
Salary data shows why quotes vary. ZipRecruiter puts the average US Odoo developer at $95,986 a year, but the middle half earns anywhere from $55,000 to $150,000 (ZipRecruiter). Odoo consultants average $86,430, with the middle half at $61,000 to $103,000 (ZipRecruiter). The Bureau of Labor Statistics median was $105,850 for computer systems analysts and $135,980 for software developers in May 2025 (BLS, BLS).

A $95,000 gap inside one source is the market telling you that “Odoo developer” covers a junior configuring standard apps and a senior writing Python modules that must survive three version upgrades. Ask every partner who is on the team, what each person does, and which version each is certified on.
Eight factors move most Odoo quotes.

User count and the number of companies come first, because they set both the subscription and the training load. Apps in scope follow, then data migration from QuickBooks, NetSuite or a legacy system. Custom modules are the line that keeps costing, because each one must be rewritten for every future version. Integrations with e-commerce, shipping, banks and EDI add scope, and hosting choice decides who applies patches. Training and change management, the cause Panorama links to most schedule overruns, close the list. Ask every partner to price these eight lines separately.
The Top 20 Odoo Development Companies in USA, compared
Firms 2 to 21 below are the first 20 partners on Odoo’s United States partner directory, read on 14 September 2026. Odoo orders the directory by partner grade, then by the number of client references, so the list is seven Gold partners followed by thirteen Silver partners in Odoo’s own order. We did not re-rank them.
Brain Station 23 is placed first because we publish this article. Odoo lists us as a Silver partner under Bangladesh, not the United States, with 17 references, fewer than any firm below, so the directory’s ranking did not place us among these twenty and we are not claiming it did.
The data in the table comes from each partner’s Odoo listing: client references, customer retention, project sizes and certified experts by version. Odoo reports those figures; the descriptions on each partner page are the partner’s own words. We checked Clutch for every firm and matched a profile, by website domain, for ten of them. Only four have reviews there.

Partner grades, reference counts and industries, certified experts by version and addresses are from each partner’s Odoo partner listing, read 14 September 2026. “Best For” is our reading of that data. Team sizes, founding years and engagement models are not published for half of these partners, because ten have no Clutch profile, so we have left them out of the table rather than guess.
Profiles are grouped by the kind of buyer each partner suits, and the numbers match the table. Customer retention, project sizes and certifications are Odoo’s figures. Claims such as headcounts, awards and compliance are the partners’ own and are unverified by us, which is why several profiles say to ask.
1. Brain Station 23
We publish this article and placed ourselves first, so read this entry as the publisher’s pick. Odoo lists us as a Silver partner under Bangladesh, not the United States, with 17 references, fewer than any firm below, and six certified experts, only one of them on Odoo 19. Our average reference project is 24 users and our largest is over 100, so we have not delivered at Bista’s or QOC’s scale. We have worked with Odoo since 2016 and publish our own modules on the Odoo Apps Store. What we add is engineering depth behind the Odoo team: 900+ engineers, with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II controls that matter once custom modules sit outside Odoo’s upgrade and security coverage. Our Clutch reviewers have asked for tighter internal coordination. A large US manufacturer should start with the Gold partners below.

2. Bista Solutions
Bista leads Odoo’s US page on every count: 246 references, 80 certified experts and a largest project of about 1,100 users. Manufacturing accounts for 117 of those references. Its Odoo page describes compliance work for defence and healthcare, naming ITAR and HIPAA. Customer retention is 94 percent. Its Clutch profile has no reviews, lists NetSuite rather than Odoo in its ERP split, and includes an office in Mumbai. It suits a large manufacturer; a ten-user company may be a small account in its book.

3. Gray Matter Logic
Gray Matter Logic is second on Odoo’s US page with 154 references, 69 of them in manufacturing, and reports 100 percent customer retention. Its 46 certified experts are the second largest group here, and two-thirds hold Odoo 19 certification. It describes itself as veteran-owned with a US-based team and lists rescue projects among its services, useful if a first implementation went wrong. It has no Clutch profile, so ask for references directly.

4. QOC Innovations
Founded in 2019, QOC reached Gold status with 146 references and calls itself manufacturing-focused, which its references support: manufacturing is its largest category by far. Its largest project is about 1,000 users, second only to Bista. Retention is 94 percent. Its certified experts are spread across three versions, with more on v17 than on v19, which matters for a buyer moving to Odoo 19. It has no Clutch profile.

5. Captivea USA
Captivea USA has 133 references, 85 of them in manufacturing or wholesale, and 97 percent retention. Its Odoo page describes a US company founded in 2018 as part of a global group with 18 years of Odoo work and more than 600 clients. Clutch lists a team of 10 to 49 and a 2007 founding date, so confirm which entity you contract with. Only two of its eleven certified experts hold Odoo 19 certification, the second lowest share among the Gold partners.

6. Novobi
Novobi pairs 109 references with 100 percent retention and 36 certified experts, 23 of them on Odoo 19. Its Odoo page describes Best Practice Accelerators built from past projects and claims CMMI Level 3, the only process maturity certification named by any of the twenty. Manufacturing and wholesale are close to even in its references. Accelerators shorten timelines, but any delivered as custom modules sit outside Odoo’s upgrade service, so agree who upgrades them.

7. Cudio
Cudio has the smallest average project among the Gold partners, 17 users, but manufacturing accounts for 56 of its 97 references and retention is 96 percent. Its Odoo page says its founders moved their own multinational businesses onto Odoo and lists 2024 and 2006 Odoo Award nominations. Clutch places it in New York with an office near Montreal, and its Clutch ERP split names SAP and NetSuite but not Odoo. There are no Clutch reviews to read.

8. Brainvire Infotech
Brainvire is the only Gold partner here whose largest reference category is wholesale and retail rather than manufacturing. It also shows the widest gap between claim and listing: its Odoo page claims more than 280 certified Odoo consultants, while Odoo’s directory shows six certified experts and none on version 19. Retention is 81 percent, lowest among the Gold partners. It has the largest Clutch review base here, 262 reviews at 4.8, and Clutch notes communication and timeline issues tied to time zones and scope changes.
Founded: 2012 (Clutch)
US Presence: Irving TX
Company size: Clutch band 250 to 999

12. Talus ERP
Talus ERP has 52 references and 96 percent retention, strong numbers for a Silver partner, and its reference descriptions lean toward distributors using integrated inventory and multi-channel sales. The caution is the calendar. All three of its certified experts hold Odoo 17 certification, the version leaving standard support in September 2026, and none hold 18 or 19. That does not mean the team cannot upgrade you. It means you should ask who will, and when.
Founded: Not published
US Presence: Alpharetta GA
Company size: Not published (no Clutch profile)
- Distributors with a small Odoo footprint and a strong renewal record
- 3 Odoo-certified experts (all on v17)

- Wholesale and retail
- Manufacturing
- Finance and insurance
- Food and hospitality

13. Sodexis
Sodexis has 42 references with an average project of 28 users and a largest of about 300, both the highest among the Silver partners. Retention is 94 percent. Its reference base is unusually spread: no single industry reaches ten references. Its Odoo page publishes references but says little about the team, and it has no Clutch profile, so this is the partner on the list where you will do the most diligence yourself.

US Presence: Orlando FL

14. Confianz Global
Confianz reports 100 percent retention on 36 references, mostly wholesale and retail, and it is one of four partners here with reviews on Clutch: 39 at 4.8. On Clutch, mobile app development is 60 percent of its services and ERP 40, and Willing to Refer, at 4.5, is its lowest sub-score. Like Talus, all three of its certified experts hold Odoo 17 certification only. Check upgrade capability before you sign a new implementation.

19. Rooteam
Rooteam reports 100 percent retention, and 18 of its 29 references are in wholesale and retail, the most concentrated reference base on the list. It describes itself as a software development company first, with Odoo work beside logistics automation, web and mobile apps and DevOps. Its projects are small, averaging 11 users with a largest of about 50. All three certified experts are on Odoo 18. If it writes custom modules for you, keep the repository in your name.

9. Bay Forward
Bay Forward has the smallest average project on the list, nine users, and 79 percent retention, second lowest in the top ten. It is the only one of the twenty that names Odoo in its Clutch ERP split, at 30 percent, next to Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Oracle and Sage. Its Odoo page describes more than 50 accountants, including CPAs, working as business analysts. That suits a company whose Odoo project is really a finance project. Its single Clutch review is too little to judge.

Six of Hamdek’s seven certified experts hold Odoo 19 certification, a current share second only to DFW IT Partner. Its Odoo page claims more than 90 full-scale Odoo deployments and centres on moving historical data out of QuickBooks, SAP and Dynamics, then training teams until adoption holds. Its 31 references lead with manufacturing, retention is 91 percent and the average project is 11 users. With no Clutch profile, the reference calls carry the weight.

18. Tekgenio
Tekgenio is one of two firms here in Clutch’s 2 to 9 team band and one of the youngest, founded in 2021. Its largest reference is about 40 users, the lowest ceiling on the list. Business intelligence is its largest Clutch service line, ahead of ERP. It has 30 references and 82 percent retention, and none of its certified experts are on Odoo 19. It suits a small company that wants a hands-on team and help with reporting.

20. DFW IT Partner
DFW IT Partner is the youngest firm here, founded in 2022, yet seven of its eight certified experts hold Odoo 19 certification, the highest current share on the list. Half of its 28 references are manufacturers. Its Clutch profile shows small businesses as all of its clients and has three reviews. Retention is 78 percent, second lowest of the twenty. It suits a small manufacturer starting on Odoo 19 that values current certification over a long track record.

21. OBS Solutions
OBS Solutions lists locations in the United States, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands, and describes more than 50 consultants. It is the only partner here whose own description says it relies on the Odoo standard to minimise custom development, an approach that keeps future upgrades cheaper. Its 28 references include three nonprofits, unusual on this list, and retention is 88 percent. It has no Clutch profile, so check references directly.

11. Systems Services, Inc.
Founded in 1979, Systems Services is the oldest firm on the list and keeps its developers in Louisiana. Its Odoo page says more than 80 percent of its new customers since 2023 were first implemented by Odoo directly or by another partner, which suggests much of its work is taking over existing systems. Its 61 references lead with wholesale and retail. Retention is 76 percent, the lowest of the twenty, and Clutch lists a team of 2 to 9.

15. Hibou Corp.
Hibou is the only partner here whose largest reference category is IT, communication and marketing rather than manufacturing or retail. Its Odoo page highlights in-house developers, server management and e-commerce, with more than 20 years of combined Odoo experience across the team. It has 32 references and 80 percent retention, and two of its three certified experts hold Odoo 19 certification. If Hibou hosts your database, keep the hosting account in your name.

16. Ciranta IT Services
Ciranta describes itself as an IT services firm with more than 18 years behind it, and Odoo is one line among business intelligence, cyber security and web and mobile applications. Its 31 references lead with manufacturing and IT, and retention is 92 percent. Its three certified experts are all on Odoo 18. A generalist helps when Odoo is one system among several, but custom code is the part Odoo’s upgrade service leaves to you.

What the twenty partner listings show
We tallied the data behind every listing. None of it is a ranking. It shows what normal looks like on this Top 20 Odoo Development Companies in USA list, so a proposal that is out of line stands out.
The references are concentrated. The twenty partners report 1,471 client references between them, and the seven Gold partners hold 944, or 64 percent. Bista alone has 246. The median partner has 55.5 (Brain Station 23 analysis of Odoo partner listings, read 14 September 2026).
This is a manufacturing and distribution market. Manufacturing is the largest reference category for eleven partners and wholesale and retail for seven. Across all twenty, those two sectors account for 836 references, 57 percent of the total. A services business or a nonprofit will find fewer close references here.

Retention is high but not uniform. Odoo’s customer retention figure runs from 76 to 100 percent, with a median of 93. Gray Matter Logic, Novobi, Confianz and Rooteam report 100 percent. Systems Services, DFW IT Partner and Bay Forward sit below 80.
Projects are small. The median average project is 18 users. Only Bista and QOC report a largest project of about 1,000 users or more, and Tekgenio’s largest is about 40.
Certification lags the calendar. The twenty list 289 certified experts: 165 on Odoo 19, 79 on 18 and 45 on 17. Bista alone accounts for 80. Six partners have no one certified on Odoo 19: Brainvire, Talus ERP, Confianz, Ciranta, Tekgenio and Rooteam. Talus and Confianz have certifications only on version 17, which leaves standard support this month.

Odoo’s count of certified experts is not a headcount, and the gap can be large. Brainvire’s own description claims more than 280 certified consultants against six on its listing, and Bista describes 300 experts against a Clutch band of 50 to 249. Treat the directory number as the verified floor.
Independent reviews are scarce. Ten of the twenty have a Clutch profile we could match by website, four have any reviews, and only Brainvire has more than 40. Only Bay Forward names Odoo in its Clutch ERP split. For most Odoo partners, the reference calls you make yourself are the review data.
How to shortlist an Odoo partner
Order the filters so the first removes the most partners.

Step 1: Fix hosting and plan first. Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and on-premise change the subscription tier, who applies patches and whether upgrades are mandatory.
Step 2: Count references in your industry. Each Odoo listing shows references by sector. A partner with 50 references in yours is a different proposition from one with two.
Step 3: Match project size. Compare your user count with each partner’s average and largest project.
Step 4: Check certifications on your target version. Six of the twenty have no Odoo 19 certifications; ask for the named team’s certifications, not the company’s.
Step 5: Check customer retention. A figure under 80 percent is worth a direct question and two long-standing references.
Step 6: Ask for the custom module plan. Every module the partner proposes should come with a reason it cannot be standard configuration, and a statement of who upgrades it.
Step 7: Buy a fit-gap analysis. A paid discovery that maps your processes to standard Odoo shows how the partner thinks before you commit the implementation budget.
How to buy Odoo services: four engagement models
The engagement model decides who pays when a fit-gap finding turns into a custom module.

Fixed-scope implementation moves overrun risk to the partner, who prices it in. It works when the fit-gap analysis is signed and the apps are mostly standard. It fails when discovery keeps finding gaps.
Time and materials keeps the risk with you. It suits migrations, rescue projects and heavily customised databases, where the scope is clear only once the data is open. Cap each phase and review hours weekly.
Support and maintenance retainer covers bug fixing, small changes and, if written in, upgrading your custom modules for each new version. Odoo’s own maintenance of covered extra modules is subcontracted to the partner when you work through one (Odoo Enterprise Subscription Agreement).
Staff augmentation adds Odoo developers to a team you run. It suits a company with an in-house ERP owner and a backlog of modules. It fails when nobody internal understands the data model.
The technical question: upgrading a customised Odoo database
With Odoo 17.0 leaving standard support in September 2026, many databases face an upgrade now, and the order of the work decides its cost.
The upgrade service Odoo includes with a subscription converts standard modules and data. It does not include cleaning pre-existing data and configurations, upgrading additional modules built in-house or by third parties, including partners, unless they are under a maintenance contract, or training on the new version (Odoo upgrade documentation). Customers remain responsible for converting third-party extensions (Odoo Enterprise Subscription Agreement).

The steps, in the order that keeps them cheapest:
Step 1: Inventory every module. List custom modules, Studio customisations and third-party apps, with who wrote each one and whether it is still used.
Step 2: Remove what nobody uses. Every module you delete is one less to rewrite, and Odoo 19 may now cover some of them as standard.
Step 3: Choose the target version. Moving to Odoo 19 buys standard support to September 2028; moving to 18 buys a year less (Odoo).
Step 4: Request a test upgrade and rewrite modules in parallel. Odoo recommends upgrading custom module code while the upgraded test database is prepared.
Step 5: Clean the data. Duplicate products, stale partners and broken configurations are outside Odoo’s upgrade scope, so budget the work.
Step 6: Test on the upgraded copy. Run month-end close, a full order-to-cash cycle and your integrations before go-live.
Step 7: Train and cut over. Panorama found organisational issues were the most common cause of schedule overruns, so schedule training before the date, not after it.
Red flags: eight answers to walk away from
Some answers in a sales call should end it, or at least move a partner down the list.

“We will hold the Enterprise subscription for you.” The licence is revoked when the agreement ends. Put it in your name.
“Odoo’s upgrade service handles our modules.” It does not cover partner-built modules outside a maintenance contract.
“Our whole team is certified.” Check the directory count by version.
“Stay on 17, it works fine.” Standard support ends in September 2026.
“We will customise it to match your process.” Ask for the standard alternative first; each module is a future upgrade task.
“Data migration includes cleaning.” Ask what cleaning is in scope, in writing.
“Training is optional.” Organisational issues are the most common reason ERP projects run late.
“We host the database on our servers.” Hosting, backups and access belong under your account.
After launch: what the implementation quote leaves out
The list tells you who can implement Odoo. This part covers what buyers wish they had settled before the final invoice, and what recurs for as long as Odoo runs the business.
What you must own before the final invoice
The Odoo Enterprise subscription, contracted in your company’s name. Odoo’s agreement revokes the licence when it expires or ends, and security advisories for self-hosted customers go to the customer (Odoo Enterprise Subscription Agreement).
The database and file store, with backups you can download, and the Odoo.sh project or server account under your billing.
The source code of every custom module, in a repository you control with its commit history, not a zip at handover.
Odoo Apps Store purchases, bought under your account so updates keep coming.
Integration credentials, including e-commerce, shipping, payment and bank connections, issued to your company.
Configuration documentation, covering Studio changes, automated actions, access rights and a runbook for backups and restores.
The bill that arrives after launch
The implementation quote covers go-live. The rest recurs.

The recurring lines are the per-user subscription, maintenance of custom modules, a version upgrade at least every three years to stay in standard support, hosting on Odoo.sh or your own servers, third-party app renewals, a support retainer and training for new staff. Get the recurring number in writing before you sign, and compare partners on three years of cost, including one version upgrade, rather than on the go-live price.
Security is a recurring cost
An ERP holds finance, payroll, customer and supplier data, so its patching speed matters. For self-hosted customers, Odoo commits to send a security advisory at least two weeks before making it public, but that commitment excludes extra modules, meaning custom and third-party code (Odoo Enterprise Subscription Agreement). If the subscription sits in a partner’s name, you may not be the one who receives the advisory.

The two-week window is generous by current standards. Google Cloud’s M-Trends 2026 put the mean time to exploit at minus seven days, meaning exploitation often begins before a patch exists (Google Cloud), and the average US data breach cost a record USD 11.5 million in IBM’s 2026 report (IBM Cost of a Data Breach Report 2026). Ask the partner who receives Odoo’s advisories, how fast a patch reaches your production database, and who reviews the security of custom modules, which no Odoo advisory covers.
Accessibility is legal exposure
Odoo is back office, but many buyers also run the Odoo Website, eCommerce or customer portal apps, and those pages face the public. E-commerce accounted for nearly 70 percent of ADA web lawsuits, and more than 5,000 digital accessibility lawsuits had been filed by the end of 2025 (UsableNet). WebAIM found detected WCAG 2 failures on 95.9 percent of the top million home pages in 2026 (WebAIM Million 2026).
If a partner builds a storefront theme or portal pages, name WCAG 2.2 AA in the contract and ask for a screen reader test of checkout and account pages before launch.
Contract clauses that surface in month nine
These rarely come up in a sales call and often decide the relationship later. This is not legal advice; have your own counsel review any agreement.
Subscription ownership, stating that the Odoo Enterprise subscription is contracted by and invoiced to your company.
IP assignment on payment for custom modules, reports and Studio work, not on final acceptance.
Upgrade scope, stating which custom modules the partner will port to each new Odoo version, at what price and by when.
Data export, requiring a full database and file store backup on request, in a restorable format.
Transition assistance, a fixed number of hours at an agreed rate if you move to another partner.
Rate escalation caps, subcontracting disclosure for offshore or partner-of-partner work, and liability caps and insurance matched to the data Odoo will hold.
How to leave without losing the codebase
Confirm first that the subscription, the database, the hosting account and the custom module repository are in your name. If they are not, move them while relations are cordial. Trigger transition hours, and record walkthroughs of the custom modules, integrations and scheduled actions.
Tell Odoo which partner, if any, now handles your support, since the partner is the main point of contact for covered modules under Odoo’s agreement. On the last day, remove the departing partner’s users, rotate API keys and integration credentials, and change the database administrator and hosting passwords.
Hire in-house or hire a partner
Start with the wage. ZipRecruiter puts the average US Odoo developer at $95,986 and the average Odoo consultant at $86,430 (ZipRecruiter), and BLS projects about 32,900 openings a year for computer systems analysts through 2035 (BLS). Add benefits, recruiting and the months it takes a hire to learn your data model.
Hire in-house when Odoo runs most of the business, changes every month, and you can keep at least two people who understand both the processes and the code.
Hire a partner for the implementation, a version upgrade, a rescue project or a set of modules you need for months rather than years. Keep the subscription, the database and the code in your name so the choice stays reversible.
Combine the two when you have an internal ERP owner but not enough developers. A partner retainer or staff augmentation adds capacity while the knowledge stays in-house.
FAQ
How much does Odoo cost per user in the US?
The Standard plan is $7.25 per user per month billed annually and the Custom plan $10.90; monthly billing is $8.95 and $13.60. One app is free for unlimited users (Odoo pricing). Partner services for implementation, customisation and support are billed separately.
When does support for Odoo 17 end?
Odoo plans to end standard support for 17.0 in September 2026. Odoo 18.0 follows in September 2027 and 19.0 in September 2028; after that, extended support carries a mandatory extra fee (Odoo).
How many Gold Odoo partners are there in the US?
Seven of the 273 US partners were Gold on 14 September 2026, with 28 Silver and 238 Ready (Odoo partner directory). The grade is Odoo’s; references, retention and version certifications tell you more about fit.
Does Odoo’s upgrade service upgrade my custom modules?
Not unless they are under a maintenance contract. Odoo’s upgrade scope excludes modules built in-house or by third parties, including Odoo partners, and a database with custom modules cannot be upgraded until those modules are ready (Odoo upgrade documentation).
Should I choose Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or on-premise?
Odoo Online forces a major upgrade every two years and runs on the Standard plan; Odoo.sh and on-premise require the Custom plan but let you control upgrade timing (Odoo upgrade documentation, Odoo pricing). Heavy customisation usually points away from Odoo Online.
How long does an Odoo implementation take?
There is no Odoo-specific benchmark in the sources we used. Across ERP systems, Panorama Consulting’s 2026 report found a median project timeline of nine months, with almost a quarter of projects over schedule (Panorama Consulting Group).
Who should own the Odoo Enterprise subscription?
Your company. Odoo revokes the licence when the agreement ends, and security advisories for self-hosted databases go to the customer on the agreement (Odoo Enterprise Subscription Agreement). A partner can manage it on your behalf without owning it.
Why do so few Odoo partners have Clutch reviews?
Of the twenty top-listed US partners, ten have a Clutch profile we could match and four have reviews (Clutch). Clutch has no Odoo category, so Odoo’s own listing, with references and retention, is the more complete source. Call references yourself.
Conclusion
The data behind this Top 20 Odoo Development Companies in USA list says three things. The market is concentrated: seven Gold partners hold 64 percent of the twenty’s references, and most of those references are manufacturers and distributors. Certification lags the release calendar, with six top partners having no one certified on Odoo 19 in the month Odoo 17 leaves standard support. And independent reviews barely exist, so Odoo’s listing and your own reference calls do the work a review site would elsewhere.
Any of the twenty can take a company live. What decides the next three years is the upgrade bill: whether your custom modules are few and documented, who ports them to each version, and whether the subscription, the database and the code are in your name on the day you choose a different partner.
